[GRAPHIC: Courtroom Presentation]
DOUG LLEWELLYN: We have some pictures here. Let's take a look at these and talk about some of the specific cases that you've gotten involved with.
[GRAPHIC: Courtroom]
DOUG LLEWELLYN: Now, first off, this is, this is you over here--wait a minute, here you are. This is you in the midst of a case in a courtroom. And tell me what you're doing here and what are we looking at.
CLIFFORD BLACKMAN: This is a trial of a, an automobile accident where my client has a bad hand injury.
DOUG LLEWELLYN: Okay.
CLIFFORD BLACKMAN: And there was a surgery performed on her hand and the surgeon was testifying. These exhibits were being used with the expert witness to explain the surgery and how they had to put the arm in a special device to--you can see the--on the left there with the arm.
DOUG LLEWELLYN: So you bring in these pictures which, which illustrate the injury and what happened. And obviously--is this a jury trial?
CLIFFORD BLACKMAN: Yes, this is a jury trial.
DOUG LLEWELLYN: So, so you're using this, these devices then to really help explain to the jury so they understand what, what's going on, right?
CLIFFORD BLACKMAN: I have found over the years that medical issues can be very complicated and totally, you know, incomprehensible to a normal person.
DOUG LLEWELLYN: Right.
CLIFFORD BLACKMAN: So if a medial illustrator can create an excellent and accurate picture of what the problem was with the person, that jury can understand it just by looking at it, especially if the doctor who did the treatment or the surgery can explain what they're looking at. They get an idea of just how bad the injury was. So...
DOUG LLEWELLYN: And so it helps them make a just decision then.
CLIFFORD BLACKMAN: Yeah. Well, and to understand the, the seriousness of the problem, you know, a lot of things happen, they're inside the body, how would that someone know what's involved.
DOUG LLEWELLYN: Absolutely.
CLIFFORD BLACKMAN: One of the things we routinely do is to work with professional medical illustrators in conjunction with the doctors that treated the patient to come up with good and easy to understand pictures. Some of these are those.
